Door wiring help

We have a 98 C2500 service truck,(used to be a pickup), that I'm trying to replace the driver's door on. I picked up a an 89 driver's door, but the wires on it are a larger gauge to begin with, but I'm not sure how to splice the 89 wires into the 98's wires. Not worried about the power door locks, just both front windows. The current one in the 98 is in the bottom of the door as someone bent the regulator every which way. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I can't upload photos as it says there's a security token missing. Sorry

Re: Door wiring help

I know the door panel and all changed in 95, so 95 to 98 (90 on HD & burbs) would be one design loom and older cause of the placement would be different. NOt sure of wiring colors schemes.

Try here and down loads both year manuals to figure out the wires

Re: Door wiring help

It's been years since I've dug around in the doors of those years truck.. But seems to me the easiest approach is to not splice anything.. simply remove the door harness from the '89.. route the 95 wiring into the door and plug everything up.. If the plugs don't match, the '89 electrical items may not work with the 95's electrical circuits...
