Is the bearing cup just stuck in here?
1 Attachment(s)
I'm trying to do some work on the steering column for my '67 (three on the tree). The lower bearing on the steering shaft was completely shot and pretty much just fell apart on me. I'm not sure what I'm looking at here. Is the part that I've got an arrow pointing to the bearing cup just stuck in the adjusting ring?

Yes. It is a press fit. It is further held into the cup by the steering shaft retaining clamp that rides in the bearing.

Re: Is the bearing cup just stuck in here?
I think that bearing is the same as the 60-66 trucks.
Here is the thread that I think has the answer. Link: https://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/...+lower+bearing |
