Throttle linkage

Have a 64 chev that has what i believe is the original rod linkage .We have just changed the 350 engine and has a 700R4 trans .we changed it to a newer Elderbrook carb. Need to get the cable hooked up for the 700 and was wondering if anyone has changed to a trottle cable instead of the rod set up. Just think is may be easier without so many moving parts.

Make sure that your carb has the correct linkage for the 700r4.

I think the throttle pedal and bracket from a 71 or 72 Chevy truck is a common swap. Do a search on this forum and you will find a few “how to” write-ups. I had to do a little searching for a cable that was the right length for my setup.

Re: Throttle linkage

carb has the right spot for it, mounting the bracket to hold the cable with the throttle rod and HEI distributor is the problem.

There was a little “fabrication” - mostly trimming the bracket, but otherwise pretty straight forward.
