New truck to the “fleet”

Hey all just bought a 92 sierra sle step to add to the 84 c10. Nothing crazy , 2/4 drop , just rebuilt the motor and new clutch, all sorts off new boring maintenance parts. 350 to 5 speed.

Appreciate it yea it is pretty clean. Some scratches here and there but all intact original paint and interior. Gonna have it professionally detailed and paint corrected and see where that leaves me , I know I need a headliner just not sure on carpet or seats . Fabric is fine but they are dirty. Motor I was not planning on rebuilding but I got an ugly surprise when I got it home in the form of scored 1 and 3 cylinders so rebuild was the first on the list. This truck is doing my daily duty :) new tires are next on the list and then i may c notch it and go lower. Haven’t decided that part yet. I’m torn because I still use it as a real truck but to me the ass end looks like it needs at least another inch lower

Yea I’m loving it. Is there any way I can drop another inch without going to a flip kit or a c notch ? I was reading something about being able to use suv spring hangers and it should give me an additional 1 inch lower but I don’t know if that is one inch lower from stock height or one inch lower from a 4 inch rear drop using shackles and hangers. (I can’t recall the article now but I think the discussion was around using suv hangers in addition to the 4 inch to get like 4.75 out of it)

Truck looks great. I am old skool, so I like the rake look yours has more than lower the rear anymore.

So I think I may have figured out why my truck is high in the rear , I don’t think it has c1500 springs, can anyone verify how leafs are in a c1500 2wd spring pack? I have 4 leafs and a removed overload spring for 5 , I think it’s only supposed to be three and an overload.

Well i have confirmed I have the heavy half springs in the rear. My truck is not a heavy half but those springs were swapped in. I can tell the overload was removed as it doesn’t have one currently and there’s a rust outline where they used to hit on the bottom of the spring. Going to order some oem replacement springs and see what that gets me.

my 92 and 94 had 4 leafs, but don't remember overload spring. My 96 ext cab also had 4, but had the overload.

Yea with the overload that was removed from this pack , this would’ve had 5 (4+1) leafs . The guy that had it before hauled with it , at one point it had a 5th wheel hitch , so it makes sense he would’ve got bigger springs . Whoever lowered it just put shackles and hangers and removed the overload leaf. Why anyone would use a reg cab step side for a 5th wheel is beyond me lol

Since it has the larger pack , the spring rate is most definitely higher and probably raised the rear more than the lower rated 1/2 ton pack. I’m willing to bet the oem springs will put it back a little lower . At the very least it should ride better and fix my driver side lean
