Aftermarket "new" part thoughts
 

Many may know this already and I'm preaching to the choir but it may not hurt to help w/aftermarket purchases experiences for some forum members.

My experience w/new parts (not OEM/NOS) is they may look the same but have slightly different dimensions, "spring" (flex) characteristics, "why doesn't this fit" frustration moments, etc.

Examples I've had:
1. Door window cranks were I needed to hacksaw a new slot for the retention clip in the casting.

2. Horn contact (convex spring contact) where it was too rigid to compress w/the horn cap.

3. Screws on plastic pieces longer than required.

4. Turn signal lever needed grinding to fit the turn signal switch.

Those are just some examples of not everything "is plug and play" when buying from aftermarket suppliers or equivalent.
While I've been pleased with my purchases, and thrilled I can access replacement parts, you may run into times where frustration of "new" parts don't always fit exactly or perform as OEM.

This is just my two cents on if its not fitting exactly, performing as intended...step back and really look at the piece and maybe it need a little TLC to fit.

Dude, you’re living my life.
I m starting to get the little box senior members on the site have with aftermarket parts that suck. It’s a hit and miss but it’s nice things are out there I figured. I think most need a little messing with in not nos$$$:smoke:
