dumb auto hub question alert

Hello all,

Does anyone know the ins and outs of possible swapping the automatic hubs from an 8 lug chevy 10 bolt into a 8 lug Dana 44 (ford)?

I have a 78 f250, it is not a big wheeling truck but i use 4wd in the winter,, Once out on the highway,,, the driveshaft does not enjoy spinning at 60 mph. I am doing the brakes/bearing now and that made me think of it..

I use the auto hubs in my v2500 burb and never had one complaint..

Any advice is greatly appreciated. My guess is i need the GM hubs as the clips are different?

Chris

wont work, 10 bolt chevy is going to have 'spline drive' hub whereas the 78 ford will have bolt ons

My Ford is a 78 High pinion,, Looks a lot like the GM,, doesn't look like those bigger 70s ford hubs

All my trucks are full time four wheel drive and the front driveshafts have no problems spinning 70-75 mph down the highway. I think some driveshaft maintenance would be helpful. A couple years ago I had a terrible vibration and thought it was my front driveshaft but it turned out to be the rear one. The splined yoke wore out.
