Early-60’s drag-inspired ‘62.

Long-time listener and first-time poster.
Just thought I’d share my ‘62 that my daughter and I had been piecing together. Always been inspired by the early-60’s era of drag racing and home-built hotrods and wanted to direct that toward this old truck we’ve had sitting for a while. Dual Quad SBC going in hopefully this winter. Currently 235 Stovebolt, T5 modified to fit a correct hurst, ididit hotrod column, ‘62 corvette steering wheel, American racing up front and slots in the rear. Next is ditching the dumb street rod roll pan and putting on the factory chrome rear bumper. Thanks for looking! |

Nice looking truck as is and I like the exhaust manifolds on the SBC. Are you planning to keep the T5 in there with the new motor?

Yeah I don't have any issues with the T5's I have 2 currently, one in my 69 Chevelle SS behind a stock 396 and one waiting to go into a project. They don't like being beat on but they aren't made of glass either. I was more just wondering what direction you were going with the truck along with the SBC swap, like muncie and drag slicks type of build or keeping it more street oriented while looking period build. I swapped my chevelle because it has 4.10 posi in the rear and wanted to be able to take interstate without screaming the big block all the time.
