cab m easurement

My factory mounts for the cab in the back, one is sagging some and the cab does not sit level. What is the measurement from the bottom of the cab to the chassis? How high does the back of the cab sit off of the chassis?

you may want o put your year of truck in the title someplace.
if it's a task force there is a free download for the factory assembly manual online at the trifive site. there are frame drawings etc that show that dimension
try googling
55-59 chevrolet truck factory assembly manual
pick the trifive site
download to a stick for future access

mr48chev has a better scan from a manual in his collection showing from frame to cab mount, but I lost the link

If I am reading it right it is 1.83 at the front and .76 at the rear.

Well, I'm confused now! It doesn't say .76 it says +76! The + isn't that big it is a + not a . this is weird. I went out and got under my truck after reading these numbers yesterday and mine measures 1 7/8" at the rear. The fit to the running board and apron is perfect.

And by the way, on this subject I have seen a number AD's at car shows lately and my wife noticed damage to the cab from the apron on one so I looked at every truck I saw there and almost every one had damage to the rear fender or the cab from the running board apron. I will be looking at this a lot closer on mine!

Re: cab m easurement

it say .76 +/- some fraction I can't read. so roughly 3/4 inch gap between frame rail and the rear floor brace.

and mr48chev's scan, near the edge of the picture I think shows 1" and change gap between frame and floor brace at front

Re: cab m easurement

Ahhhhhhh, first off, it's from the top of the frame to the rear floor brace so I was off there. I just went and measured mine and right there at about 7/8".

Sorry

Brian
