rough day on the 72 K5
The sending unit failed and I needed to pull the gas tank.
I seen the pictures as this Blazer was being put together. The chassis wand all components were completed and the body was set back. It looked like a great job. The edges of the gas tank were pinned with the receiver hitch and the exhaust tabs were bolted down blocking the nuts to the hitch. On this particular Blazer in order to remove the gas tank, both the hitch and the exhaust pipes have to be removed. Quite the job for a Saturday. Scott |

That sucks. But to put it in context, a bad day with a K/5 is way better than a good day with most other vehicles.

Re: rough day on the 72 K5
I put a hinged access panel in the floor of my blazer right over the sending unit. Now all I have to do is lift the carpet and leveling mat to access the sending unit and in-tank fuel pump.
