Spare tire carrier screw
 

Does this screw have actual metal threads or is just all plastic inside? I feel like mine is sliding down and I am thinking of running a metal nut behind it as a extra precaution. Are the threads just lined like a nylon nut? Why does the white plastic show through that square hole
