Crazy Weird SPID
2 Attachment(s)
I saw this truck for sale on marketplace. The SPID threw me for a loop. Never seen Cheyenne and Cheyenne super on the same spid. Lots of stuff listed that comes with these packages. Along with the Base Equipment options? The special paint is a strange one too. Not sure how that was supposed to look. Anyway. Any ideas. It was too weird not to share.

Re: Crazy Weird SPID
R68 appears to be a split wheel (I think). Tubes were used in split wheels, but that wasn't exclusive (also, I think.) Maybe the dealer (or someone else) changed to something else and those descriptions got erased?

If a dealer did an exchange after the fact it would not be reflected on the SPID. My guess is the assembly plant did not load the option name correctly at the beginning of the model year so any trucks built with (low running RPO) R68 show as blank. P10 is blank as well, which (I'm going from memory) is the underbed spare tire carrier. I notice there is not a regular tire RPO shown. Normally it would show "Xxx" (Front), Yxx (rear) and Zxx (spare) so the R68 seems to supercede that. K |
Re: Crazy Weird SPID
Keith, P10 is indeed under bed spare, but what is P11 “glide out spare tire”?

When I was a foreman on the line one of my guys was the operator that tightened all the box bolts and hung the spare tire. Back to topic - one of my other guys was the operator that installed the U01 cab running lights, floor mounted shifters, and the SPID label. K |

Re: Crazy Weird SPID
Paint Code is 536 (conventional two tone scheme with white roof/solid ochre body). The D99 is just paint divider, no idea why it's included on the SPID as it is included with any conventional two tone paint - but the rest of the SPID follows that trend of listing included RPOs. Z84+YE9, for example, which has been seen before on other trucks. Any idea if this is a St Louis plant truck (VIN is cut off on pic)?

Re: Crazy Weird SPID
these SPIDs are not always spot on - maybe a newbie or someone filling in on someone's day off. I've seen Cheyenne Supers showing included options like belt molding (upper bodyside) when that was included and should not be listed. I've seen both Custom Sport Truck Z84 and Cheyenne also Z84 listed at the same time when they were one/same. Color name variations such as "Hugger Orange" when it should be not given that name. I've also seen one similar to this on a K20 - with all the tires. All those "R68" duplications are tube style tires. No clue why they listed them individually - I've only seen that one other time
