57 Hood Emblem Placement
 

I have seen threads for the fender emblem hole placements but not the hood emblem. Do any of you know the hole location measurements for a 57 hood emblem. Thanks

So all that goes on a 57 Chevrolet is the hood rockets and those come with a drill template. GMC offered a jet ornament and I have that template somewhere . Hard to tell what you are talking about since you left out what make and what ornament you are referring to

Sorry for the delay.

The hood emblem is aligned with the fold in the lower edge of the hood so the center of the spears is centered on the fold. It's hard to get vertical measurements from the inside of the hood. When I was drilling my hood I made a template out of cereal box cardboard. I cut holes in it for the studs and I put center lines at the edged that lined up with the hood ornament.

The horizontal measurements are all from the inside edge of the hood below the fold near the bottom. My hood is stamped crooked so the measurements are not the same RH to LH side.

Measurements from inside lip to each stud: 9", 16", 24 5/8", 31 3/4". From RH lip to RH outer stud is 9 1/8" so my hood ornament is 1/8" to the left.

The outer studs appear to be right above the fold. The inner studs appear to be higher.
