side running lights?

Noticed some panels do not have side running lights and lot like mine do. T reason is? Is it a year model or trim package thing?

Side marker lights weren't required in 1967.

Re: side running lights?

No marker lights in '67, side reflectors were in early '68, late '68 or early '69 is when the marker lights started if I recall correctly.

Thanks guys. Did not occur to me it was a year model thing till started typing thread about them.

Seems law changed since do not see them on late model stuff. Kind of like look better w/o them.

Re: side running lights?

The lights on later vehicles are designed to be visible from the side as well so there's no need for separate lights on the side. This reduces costs and may look better.

Re: side running lights?

Seems NC law has statement in it that says trucks over 8' wide are required ti have side lights. If nothing else good arhuing point if LEO questions it and doubtful will happen. Still undecided on leaving or removing and welding up.
