83 Interior SPID 76D LEE1…….
 

1983 K10, Spid interior color code “76D LEE1 MAHOGANY CUS CL”.
Redoing interior on 1983 K10 Silverado, exterior code 63/59 two tone (know colors); mahogany is part of SPID interior color. When ordering parts, what is the Chevrolet color name to use, mahogany seem obvious, however, parts ordered under color mahogany seem different then originals.
Looking for SPID code 76D…. description.

Photos of original door panel and under dash kick panel area cover. AZ truck whole life, one owner, small town, likely out side whole life. Sun fade is obvious, under dash cover is more likely closest to original color. Aftermarket parts so far are much more brown, to very brown.

Does anyone have photo of door panel much less sun faded for this SPID interior color?

Looks like Mahogany was the color name according to this chart.

So mahogany interior on this truck was not recommended in 83 for the two tone exterior paint bronze met/almond.

What interior color to use for renovation? Testing out USA1 mahogany dye on old door panel for review, and back of new panel. Using Holley replacement Silverado door panels, comparison to original shows them to be correct on initial review (map pocket attachment holes need to be drilled- identifier location provided).
Note; looks like SEMS finisher product is needed to get the correct look ( not flatish)

USA1 Industries Mahogany. It’s a perfect match. I have done quite a few parts using the Mahogany from USA1

TKCR do you top coat with “SEM Tac Free” 39643 after the dye coat?
Any thoughts on what color ACC carpet is good to use with mahogany interior. Reviewed Rock Auto ACC colors available.

Anyone, photos of Mahogany interior in like new condition.

No. And just to clarify that is only used on the vinyl parts.
What I used after prep & dye is the SEM Low Luster Clear.
So a thorough cleaning with Dawn dish soap. The the plastics, the SEM Plastic prep. I do this twice. Once using a green scotch pad, wipe or rinse. Then again but wipe with a tac free cloth. The SEM Sand Free Adhesive Promoter followed with the light coats of dye. Then the SEM Low Luster Clear.

Now the vinyl parts, same cleaning but the prep you use SEM vinyl prep

Second and third photo color variation in hard plastic in this truck. Door panel same color on back.

Know camera and light effects how color looks in photo.

Also the variation in hard plastic color in this truck, may be the result of assemble line out of need color in that part and they used the closest color ?

Yeah that kick panel round cover looks like it’s Burgundy versus Mahogany. Unless someone swapped it at some point. That happens, especially with Mahogany. When someone starts changing parts, it’s usually with burgundy.
Your seatbelts are definitely Mahogany. And I can restore those for you, that’s what I do is restore seatbelts.

I don't see where it says that Mahogany was not recommended- it just shows that with that color combo that Mahogany was one of the available interior color options. The boxes that do not have the 'X' in them were not available as a color combo.
