wing window tightening

On my 72 K5 the pass side wing opens and stays open, driver side just flops around. Is there a way/hack/jerry rig, to tighten the driver side up so it will stay open while driving?

Its a pain, but there is a nut on bottom that can be tightened. You have to remove the vent window assy from the door to get to it. I couldn't find a specification or method to know how tight it needed to be. Just went by feel.

If it's flopping around it may be broken and will have to be replaced. The spring can be broken or more likely the stem that is attached to the actual vent window could be rusted through and broken. See the pic:

It's not elegant, but I slip a bunji cord around the lock knob with the wing all the way out, and pull the hooks to grab the window channel. No pix yet. This was going to be my temporary solution until I priced new Vent Window Assemblies.

To the OP. As said probably rusted off stud or broken spring.
To 68OS- From what I have seen the replacements kind of suck. Would rebuild or find rebuildable replacements myself. There is someone on the forum that does rebuilds if you cannot do yourself.

Funny, I was thinking of that too. Off to LMC I guess

Just had a look at LMC and from what i see, if the stud is ok then i just need the spring and then go to home depot to get a lock-nut so it wont come loose. HOPEFULLY its just a loose nut.
Thanks for all your help!!

unlikely to be a loose nut as there is a tab bent over when you adjust it so that it can't loosen.
