1960 instrument panel question, advice

1 Attachment(s)
My project did not come with any instrument panel or the instrument panel bezel.

I see in most aftermarket instrument panels that says I need to supply my own bezel. Are these easy to find or are there aftermarkets made?

* I really like the look of the original, of course I'd rather have actual gauges for oil pressure and voltage than an idiot light.

If I could find a working original would it work with my set up? I'm running a Chevy 350 with a Holley sniper 2 and a 400 turbo transmission. Would I have to change the engine sensors for coolant and oil pressure to accommodate idiot lights versus gauges?

OR is there a slightly later model instrument panel that would have gauges but yet maintained that period Correct look?

If all else fails there are some aftermarket $400-ish types on Amazon that are listed as "restro" that don't look horrible.. but again I need my own bezel.

There is a company here in Michigan that makes a beautiful instrument panel that looks original but is all modern but I cannot shell out $1,200 for one.

Advice on the above or suggestions you may have are most appreciated.

The attached picture is from a recent car show and was in a 1966 Chevy c10. It does have an oil pressure gauge versus idiot light.. if I could find one for a 1966 does it fit right into a 60?

Thank you

I looked at "saving" my original cluster on my '61, but to purchase a tach, change the fuel gauge to match the sender in my tank, change the mechanical speedometer to read my digital Vehicle Speed Sender.... it was better to just buy an aftermarket unit.

Dakota Digital is $$$ and looks more "modern." I went with Classic Instruments as it looks very stock, but had everything I wanted. It was easy to program, and I'm very happy with it.

You will need the "trim" piece that goes around the perimeter of the cluster. LMC does not list one, but I'm sure one can be found. Try Aspen Auto AZ.

Thanks, I'll take a look at that instrument panel you have. I like the look of it.

And unless someone speaks up and says they have a bezel I will start looking at the wanted to buy / for sale section see what I can find there...

Just doesn't feel right to get some digital display space age looking type panel

I wrote up a little thread when I did my dash. This is it here: https://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/....php?p=8794195

Edit: As for a bezel.... I did a quick Google search on "60-66 instrument cluster bezel" and found them fast. New and used. There's a bargain on ebay right now for less than 20 bucks

Thanks I will read the link you gave me, appreciate the info.

As for the eBay one I see one on there that has the bottom attached where your light switch choke cable windshield wiper etc would go. Unless I'm not understanding , might be for different years? That part that has all those controls is already permanently attached to my dash. So just a single bezel insert is what I'm looking for around the cluster

But maybe I looked at the wrong one on eBay

Sorry, yes I do see that most of them say 64-66.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/13559299414...yABEgJR3fD_BwE this link doesn't seem to work but there is one there on Ebay like you want. It came up when I narrowed my search to 60-63 chevy instrument cluster bezel. Don't know why I can't link it properly. I did the same thing I always do for everything else.
