Blazer dimensions
 

Hey I'm just hoping someone is able to help me out with some measurements. Ive searched but can't quite find what I am looking for. I am putting together my take on a blazer shell, and cutting down lwb bedsides. I don't have a top to reference so I am looking for the exact length of the 1/4 panels from furthest back to the top of the door jamb. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

I just measured mine, and from the door jamb to the rear edge (red line) at the top is exactily 75 inches.
I'm curious as to how you will do this because the the LWB profile won't match your door anymore if you cut it shorter (area B) because the profile tapers.
Also, I believe the distance "A" is much longer on a pickup than it is on a Blazer.

Thanks guys, appreciate it! Gives me a solid number to work with incase I can track down a top. That was a very interesting build to look over, and I see how he dealt with that front taper. I was anticipating shortening the rear, but the front taper is going to take some thinking, however just how its sitting here it doesn't look too far off. Here's a picture of what I am working with. I got the body from a guy locally who was taking it to the crusher so just trying to make something fun of it that I've wanted for a while!

Hello. I am willing to help in any way that I can. To put the information out there for others, please post it on the internet. I am building a true 4WD, K5 Blazer, that was converted to 2WD at this time, but I have a cut down, spare frame that I may build at a later date. your information may be the be key that I am looking to complete the spare frame. Glad to hear there is some interest in this. Ive made some decent progress, I am going to end up exactly at the 75" bedside length so if I can find a top in theory it should fit. I am however playing with the wheelbase a bit, going to be a few inches longer than blazer length I think. To make that work, I am going to take 11" out of the rear portion to land at that 75". I've seen the guys do 8" on the short bed conversions, so hopefully things don't line up too much worse going more. I was pleased with how the front being cut down matches up to the door. The profile matches close to perfectly in my opinion. I'll attach a couple pictures.

If you make the wheelbase 2" longer and keep the bedside at 75" the proportions will look Goofy.IMO

If you want to creat a Blazer, you will need to have the measurements very close to original. If you're off +/- 1/2", it just wont look right. Try mocking it up in CAD or even Paint to try and get the right look. I've done this a couple times on Paint to predict the outcome.
Here's one I did a while back turning a 4 door to 2 door. Took forever to get the right look before I made my first cut. My 2 cents.

There's a guy on Instagram that turns trucks into blazers. He's did several and walks you through the process.

@JustinR, the 75 inch number if an, roundabout number. The area where the bed edge meets the door (door jam) is not a straight edge.
