Radiator gap

I've got a new 4 row radiator in my '49 and it runs at about 180- 195 even on the hottest days so no problem there.
My question is: I have a 5" gap between the bottom of the radiator and the core support. I don't remember that gap when the stock radiator was in the truck. This gap is below the "scoop" behind the grill.
Just wondering if I should create a block off plate to force more air thru the radiator.
Just looking for opinions.

Re: Radiator gap

dont fix it if it ain't broke
lol
any mod would be for aesthetics or to stop a rock from damaging the rad core. hopefull the rad core is not what hits the parking curb first, seen that before. didn't turn out well.
