Guys! I found the motherload!

Get this -- 18 (yes 18, that isn't a typo) 0 original mile 1982 trucks. The guy bought all 18 in 82 to act as some sort of a tax saver for his mine, he is now trying to sell them for 14 000 cnd a peice. Those trucks have been stored in a heated, paved shop and are in absolute mint condition. None of them have more than 2 miles on the speedo, and have been run once a month for 5 minutes to keep them from freezing up. All colors, types, trim levels and options. All in absolute complete mint condition, just dusty.

Now if only he would stop being so stupid and sell them for more like 7000 a peice, he could make a lot of money off those trucks. All of them are for sale. Anyone wanna lend me 14 grand? LOL

ocbaud 01-18-2004 02:18 AM

$10,787.49 us dollers.

i dont think so mister.
if he did go down to half that, i would FOR SURE buy one

Russell 01-18-2004 02:32 AM

I agree totally -- Cut it by 50% and even I would buy one.

They are located in Chinchagua, Alberta, about 8 hours north of Edmonton.

SixthFloorFreak 01-18-2004 04:31 AM

seeing the Cnd to US conversion...the price doesn't seem that bad to me. a brand new truck, that you could drive for a long time without fear of it tearing up. maybe i'm just

ItsNotABlazer 01-18-2004 10:54 AM

Hmmmm engines, trans etc etc sitting for 22 years..........might have a little more expense there after you bought one. It would be a cool conversation piece but having a restored/modified truck that is exactly how you want it would be more inline with my way of thinking. How bout some pics of all these trucks? :D

well if they ran the motors you may get some time out of them but im betting you go for a transmission right away, also im betting you wind up doin brake work on em too half that id find $$$ for one

bigblock73 01-18-2004 01:11 PM

If I had the money, I'd buy one!

What models does he have? Shortbed? Long bed? 2wd? 4wd?

How about engine & suspension options?

Do you have a phone number?

grape 01-18-2004 02:15 PM

are there any 6.2's in a shortbed?

Blue Beard 01-18-2004 02:15 PM

The US amount would be about the sticker price here when they came out..........

If they were cheaper I'd be interested too....

But what then would be needed to bring them into the US...........?

grape 01-18-2004 02:17 PM

I'm interested........do you have a list of all these trucks and options?

Russell 01-18-2004 02:45 PM

I'll get contact information for you fellas, and do the best I can to get you guys some pictures, the guy who owns them is like 75+ and doesn't have much for technology. He Chinchagua is also like 8 hours north of me. My father goes up there often as he is supervising a plant up there. He was talking with some of the guys about this fella who was trying to get his company to buy the trucks.

brad2 01-18-2004 02:48 PM

Doesn't sound to bad to me. I would expect to have to do some work on them but you can't restore on for that amount of money. I'd be interested in knowing what is available as well.

grape 01-18-2004 02:52 PM

damn......what a ride home back here to texas

1980chevy4x4 01-18-2004 03:29 PM

Is there any 4x4s?

Russell 01-18-2004 05:52 PM

I would assume so... I'm sure he just walked in and asked for random combinations of options, and colors etc, talk about a happy dealership, lol!

N2TRUX 01-18-2004 07:35 PM

Hmmm? It sounds interesting to me...;)

It would be about a 11 hour drive (non-stop) for you, you would have to head down to Athabasca, up through Grand Prairie, then up to Manning where the fella himself lives. Here is a map of the area, I marked about where Manning is.

My father doesn't know if the guy is quite ready to sell them yet, but that is the basic price he is looking for, and he sounds pretty firm about the 14 000 per unit.

I asked my father to see if he could maybe snap some pictures next time he is in the area, not sure if he will get the chance or not...

Anyways, here is the map:

Wish I could afford one and drive it home. :(
