Just want confirmation I'm correct - the castle nut goes directly onto the ball joint stud here, no washer in between?

Re: '66 C20 spindle question

As a general rule for these old chevy's..... Yes, no washer should be required.

But the caveat will be where the hole placement is relative to the BJ stud once seated since aftermarket parts can be a coin-flip for accuracy vs original equipment parts/pieces.

I would run the nut down & if the BJ hole is aligned w/a castle nut slot to keep it locked in place, you're good to go. If for some reason the hole is above the castle nut slots & you feel the nut could rotate, I would try a washer & see what the result is since the goal is to keep that nut locked in place.

Thank you Scoti, I thought that was correct but want to be sure before moving forward.

It seems all should be well but I took all this apart too many years ago to remember how everything was at the time.

Hopefully things go back together w/o much fuss. Post up issues if you experience any & the group will probably be able to provide their experiences/insight.
