GEN V LT1 Swap Questions
4 Attachment(s)
Hey Guys been out for some time and getting back into building my 72 C10.. Its been 16 or so years so now I'm going with a different setup.. :)
I have a 23 LT1 w/ 10L90E that im going to put in the truck now, getting rid of the 90s LT1 i had in it. My current truck had the clam shell motor mounts and perches, i think like BBC in these, but since im installing the NO Limit rack i have to move the perches back or get new ones. For all the people that have done this swap already what perch and mounts have you had luck with.. I have DD LT1 Gliders but i really don't have the adjustability because of the clamshell mounts. The motor also seem to sit high, or at least i have to raise the trans off the Xmember a couple inches to get it inline.. Im think i would like new perches and im not opposed to getting different swap brackets. Also if there is a better option for the 10L90E cross member i would love to know.. Thanks!! |

I'm using the hooker black heart mounts on my LT1 swap. These mounts are known to sit the engine pretty low. I'm using sn 8l90 so I can't answer the question about the transmission mount.

X2 on the Hooker/Holley setup. But mine is a Gen3. I used the CTS-v pan and it fits great.

Re: GEN V LT1 Swap Questions
I had success with the Hooker Holley setup too....
I was going to get these from Speedway that look like exact replicas of the Hooker Holley, but I'm doing a 1967 this time and it has the wider frame rails, so I ended up getting the Hooker Holley for the wider frame rails... https://www.speedwaymotors.com/1967-...ck,445271.html Speedway also has kit with transmission crossmember and the clamshells that I wanted to get: https://www.speedwaymotors.com/1967-...it,487640.html |
