GMC Paint Codes - Motor
 

We have a 1965 GMC 4000 series dump with the 351 V-6. Plan to pull valve covers, add new gaskets and redo the covers. Initially I had figured to paint with typical chevy orange, but it appears more that these are some sort of a red color.

Anyone have a cross over or paint code or similar color that would be correct?

Recently found an old Engine enamel paint code from Ditzler 70851 Red is the correct color for the GMC V6 same as Oldsmobile red . This was from a 1962 dated book

Heres the information on the color for GMC V6 engine Red. Says 1962 and prior but the red never changed from 1960-1966 . Just that the book itself was a 1962 printing . 70851 was used on both Oldsmobile and GMC V6
