Moved gas tank on the 42
 

I am sure there are other ways of doing this, but I removed the stock under seat tank to lower my seat 1.75" - creature comfort. I use a Caravan 2nd seat. I still have a dummy fill on passenger side cab - cannot be used.

I purchase a stock 1990 Blazer 20 gallon tank and placed behind the rear axle. I am guessing but it seems to me these may have been used mainly on 4WD models - dunno. I moved it forward so as not to notice it because I do not use a bumper apron.

It is an EFI tank and sender, however I do not plan on putting EFI on it. I run a Holley inline to feed my 1406 with fuel filters on both sides of the pump. I had never run a mechanical pump as there was inadequate frame room on my S-10 frame.

I used the return port for the pump feed and the tank vent to vent. Plugged the fill vent and the in-tank pump port. The in-tank pump electric feed is capped and shrank. I ran the float gauge wire to the dash and grounded the tank well.

I still need to place the in-bed fill when I get the 2 inch hose.

The Dolphin fuel sender and gauge are 0 ohms empty and 90 ohms full.

I will see what works soon.

Seems good.. There is no problem pulling thru the return port (5/16") with the inline Holley pump. The electric pump is about halfway between the engine and the tank and is below the fuel tank. The sender for the 1990 20 gallon S10 Blazer tank works great and reflects the proper amount on the Dolphin gauge and does not dance around. I did not use the in tank pump at all but I did bring out a 3/8 inch rubber line which is plugged off.

I did have to thread the resonators and exhaust pipe to exit the body behind the rear axle.
