Distance front to rear cab mounts
1 Attachment(s)
I am building a cab dolly to transport my cab and I don't have access to the cab or frame right now. I am hoping someone has an accurate distance from the center of the rear to the center of the front cab mounts for an 82. Any help appreciated.

Re: Distance front to rear cab mounts
My 81 is 43-1/2" as best as I can measure.

I measured an 86 frame I have in the back.
I put all-thread rod in the front cab mount hole and centered it. Then I had a piece of c-channel with holes that I drilled in the center on a mill at work (for my cultivator project). I centered the channel on both rear mounts. I came up with 43". Still not a precision measurement.;) If you get it between 43 and 43.5 you should be good. Also I will add that I measured the drop from the back mount to the front mounts.
I put a piece of one inch angle on top of the 2" c-channel. I leveled the angle iron the best I could. It measures 9.5 inches so 9.5 inches- the 2 " c-channel. I came up with a 7.5 inch drop. Attachment 2436513 Attachment 2436514 |

geunther you can blame either one of us Southern boys. Slotted holes and slotted brackets. I have learned a lot over the years. I can get the width dimensions also if you need them. Looks like you got a pretty good dolly frame going on there. :metal: |

I had the rear width distance, but thank you for the offer. I will drill the front mounts when I load the cab. I also took your advice and made the rear mounts adjustable with 3.5" of adjustment fore and aft.
It is a bit overbuilt but that's better than the alternative. Almost ready to start the build thread. |
