Distance front to rear cab mounts

1 Attachment(s)
I am building a cab dolly to transport my cab and I don't have access to the cab or frame right now. I am hoping someone has an accurate distance from the center of the rear to the center of the front cab mounts for an 82. Any help appreciated.

My 81 is 43-1/2" as best as I can measure.

Much appreciated. Its actually not the easiest thing to measure, so thank you.

I measured an 86 frame I have in the back.

I put all-thread rod in the front cab mount hole and centered it.

Then I had a piece of c-channel with holes that I drilled in the center on a mill at work (for my cultivator project).

I centered the channel on both rear mounts.

I came up with 43".

Still not a precision measurement.;)

If you get it between 43 and 43.5 you should be good.

Also I will add that I measured the drop from the back mount to the front mounts.

I put a piece of one inch angle on top of the 2" c-channel.
I leveled the angle iron the best I could.

It measures 9.5 inches so 9.5 inches- the 2 " c-channel.

I came up with a 7.5 inch drop.

You went above and beyond Getter-Done. Thank you much. 43.25 it is :).
Between both of your guys' help, Im confident enough to weld on the mounts.

:lol::haha::haha::haha:

geunther you can blame either one of us Southern boys. :lol:

Slotted holes and slotted brackets.

I have learned a lot over the years.

I can get the width dimensions also if you need them.

Looks like you got a pretty good dolly frame going on there. :metal:

I had the rear width distance, but thank you for the offer. I will drill the front mounts when I load the cab. I also took your advice and made the rear mounts adjustable with 3.5" of adjustment fore and aft.

It is a bit overbuilt but that's better than the alternative. Almost ready to start the build thread.

That Cart Looks Great.

Tony the Tiger Great.:metal::metal::metal:

I just had to go measure the front mounts.:uhmk:;):lol:

It put some all-thread thru the front cab mounts.

Guess what. ;):chevy:

I came up with 43.25"

I know you said you would drill them when you load the cab.

I just had to add this info.:D

This may give you another idea.

Just trying to help.:chevy::chevy::chevy:
