hello all,

Search the threads came up with this picture from this how to.

http://www.fieros.de/en/articles/steering.html

anyone have a trick to get the high beam slider widget in place to actuate the rod that works the H/L switch.

3 times now putting it together and all feels right but no click h/l.

I have no extra parts,

Any advice to keep it aligned on the rod when sandwiching it all back together?

Re: 1989 steering column high beam switch widget

Sorry i can not delete the post,

100% user error again, the H/L beam rod fell out of the plunger witch at the base of the column. Going to try again.

Also,, if this helps, Not in a million years will the multi switch wire pull through the column using the original wire. The original wire is inside a plastic protector that is slit down the side and installed over the wire after the wire wa installed.

the opening of this protector is smaller than the plug on the end of the multi switch. Trying it, at least on my 89, was a 100% waste of time. You will need to pull out the OE wire remove the plastic protector sleeve and fish a new wire
