Which Torque Converter for 283 / 66 C10

Hello, I'm planning to swap my original 3-speed manual transmission (3 on the tree) for a TH700R4. I'm currently looking for all the necessary parts. One question I have is which torque converter I need for my truck. It's the standard 283, recently rebuilt and producing around 200 hp on the dyno. The truck is a 1966 Fleetside long bed. It's intended to be a cruiser. Does anyone have experience with which torque converter would be a good fit?

Thank you all verry much.

Greetings from Germany.

Nils

I've always talked with Torque Converter companies, and kind of average the results I get back. There are many companies, some good some not so good.

What stall you get depends on how much torque you make, what your camshaft specs are, how much the vehicle weighs, what gears you have, and what your goal is.

I had a high stall converter on my squarebody (hotrod 350, idled at 8inHg), and the company said "absolutely no towing."
