Another grill swap question

I have a 65 K10 that I want to put a 60/61 four lamp grill on, cuz I got one for free and I think that’s the coolest looking one.

I don’t have the headlamp buckets and brackets yet, but looks like all the usual suppliers sell them. After reading the previous thread about the GMC grill swap I figured I’d hold up what I have to see if everything lines up. Looks like other than drilling a few extra mounting holes everything fits fine…BUT…I noticed there is an indentation in the grill support panel for the single headlight buckets and am wondering if that indentation is different for the four lamp 60-61, or for that matter for a four lamp 65 GMC grill.

I know lots of folks out there have swapped out grills and just wondering if this is all going to fit.

Thanks
Tom

Wow
That’s quite a thread. Looks like Argonaut did exactly the same thing and said it was tight but worked. I see a lot of others have done the same, but no other comments I could find about socket clearance.

Thanks for the link, anyone else have first hand experience with this?

Thanks,
Tom

Well, wasn’t totally free. Traded a 62 grill I had for it that was in not as good of shape (which WAS totally free many years ago). Guy was using the grill for yard art, so he really didn’t care what year it was. I even threw in a few power pole insulators (also free to me) to sweeten the pot, and he was thrilled…And I got the grill I’ve been wanting for many years…Everyone’s a winner!

Ive put several of those grills together as well as 60-66 GMC ones. Let me know if looking for parts, I may have them. Also have a 61 parts truck here if need any measurements on the grill support mounting. (423) 736-0421.
