SBC oil pan question

My '69 GMC has not ran in several years -- it has been sitting in my garage in a roller state --- have decided that its time to get it moving under its own power

I have purchased a 327 from a friend who is removing it from his C2 Corvette (not #'s matching to the car , or he wouldnt be getting rid of it)

Anybody know if the Corvette oil pan is going to give me issues going into the truck? --
i'd rather address these things before i try to install it if i have to

Corvette oil pans may not be fine in a truck. Becuase the C2/C3 chassis does not have a crossmember that runs under the engine, sumps are usually much longer than the passenger car and truck pans. Especially true of the high perf engines that were not available with power steering.

A C2/C3 power steering setup is a non integral ram that is attached to the center link and is right in front of the oil pans sump. So the high perf motors with their long pans could not fit the ram.

A tape measure is your friend.

Pictures would be helpful.

Since the Engine is (not #'s matching to the car , or he wouldnt be getting rid of it) Did some one take the oil pan off the original engine and put it on the replacement engine?

Here's the C2

Here's a normal one besides the oil plug location.

It'll fit. I have a big block in my 2wd flatbed with the big pan. That fits even with the 454 sitting an inch and a quarter forward. It however will not fit in a 4x4

This -- i dont know -- my buddy has had the car for 30 years and inherited it from his dad

Has some things like aluminum aftermarket cylinder heads and a rowdy cam and valvetrain that would be sacreligious on a correct to the car build

but he never changed the pan himself
