Door Glass doesn’t seal
 

I installed new glass in both doors. They rolled up into widow channel and sealed. When I put the sweeps (fuzzies) on the glass doesn’t make it into the upper channel. The glass support at bottom of glass is what’s stopping it from sealing?

Correct the aftermarket fuzzies have to be tweaked. You will probably have to open up the door "slot" some.

Do a advance search for beltline fuzzies and you will find quite a few thread with people with the same problem and a number of different solutions. I ended up removing the clips and drilled holes in the fuzzies and the door and pop riveted the fuzzies higher in the window frame so that the mettle strip sits above the frame. The problem I was having was that when I rolled up my window the door channel would cause the door to flex when it got to the fuzzies.

The lower window seals are one job that I hope I never have to do again. I was about ready to sell the truck once I got those done.

It's probably in one of the other threads, but I believe some guys had a local glass shop make their window glass and made it 1/2" longer so the bottom window track didn't hit the fuzzies.

Thanks for y’all’s input. That’s a true statement about the fuzzies being a PITA. To install them you almost need to disassemble the door. Seems like I read the aftermarket door glass is shorter than original glass which probably is creating this issue. I did use PRECISION brand and still had to modify them to fit opening.

Custom cut longer glass is probably the best solution.
What I did was remove the glass from the bottom channel, ditch the rubber that sits in the channel, pinch the channel shut a bit so the glass will just go into it. Use window urethane to glue the glass into the channel. It still catches slightly when rolling up the last bit but will easily get past.
For the urethane if you go to a windshield shop just before closing they will often give you a part cartridge because they toss them out.

When I did mine I spread the lower part of the door window slot a bit as DPowers suggested and then mounted the fuzzies. This seemed to give the window channel just enough room to move up and seal the window properly. There is literally about 2-3mm of difference on the new fuzzies clips vs OEM that cause the problem.

While it was a bit of a pain, I've grappled with worse jobs but that's just my experience - the second door was easier than the first.

I was doing all the window channel rubbers on mine at the time. The reward once done was great - windows that don't rattle, no gaps letting air in and the door cavity stays drier when it rains with everything sealed up. My windows wind up and down with ease. Money and time well spent in my view. I had the glass in and out so many times while doing them that it now feels like a pretty straight forward job to me.

Notice how he didn't even roll the window up in the end.

Also I would not just shove that window channel up as far as it ac go. It goes too deep in the corners and will no longer make contact with your window and it is almost imposable to pull back out of the channel without pulling everything out again
