Bench seat console
1 Attachment(s)
Anyone using a console, homemade most naturally, with their stock bench seat? I just went through 25 pages of seats, didn't see a one. This is what I've got in the '64, would like to make something with a couple cupholders, maybe a phone tray/charging jack, some speakers in the sides, etc. Not something that sits on the seat, but bolts to the floor permanently. I've got some black material leftover from the seat to cover it with.

I made this one. Nothing fancy, just cup holders and storage of stuff. Vinyl upholstery around the sides and gray stained oak on top. The vintage looking hinges were purchased online. I wanted it removable because I did use the middle seat now and then.

Thats nice, Dave. How do you keep it in place?

Re: Bench seat console
Thanks. I tacked a piece of cleat backed floor mat to the bottom.

Nice. Clean and simple and rapidly removable.

Does it actually stay in place?
I was looking for one like that, but figured it would not stay in place and risk a coffee or something spilling. I ended up with this. Expensive, but no complaints. Stays in place and keeps my girl at bay! https://www.classicindustries.com/pr.../cc141212.html |

Yeah it does. If you look at the pic of inside, I put a metal bracket inside that screws to the floor. |
