Rear axle without Posi

Hello from Germany and Happy New Year! I have a '69 C10/Custom with a 12-bolt axle and RPO 4G80AF (POSITRAC AXLE). I'd like to install a standard differential without a locking mechanism – can I use any differential carrier from another 12-bolt axle, or is the year of manufacture a factor? Michael :metal:

It must be from a 12 bolt truck, the 12 bolt passenger car is different.
Also it must be for the correct ratio, the break is at 3.73
