Ready for a January junkyard crawl?
5 Attachment(s)
Looked like the weather was going to be good so i decided to take a day off and do a quick little junkyard crawl. It was a little chilly in the am and had a few miles to go.
We will start with a little mish-mash of stuff. |

Haven't been to this yard for a few years so i figured it was time. Weather warmed up nicely and a nice variety of stuff.

The yard is quite organized and want you to make a list of parts according to the stock number and then go to the office and they will price things out. It is a pull it yourself yard, but they will assist for extra.

Let the fun begin... Back to the truck to grab tools and hike back in.

These 3 trucks here were only sold as complete, but not really for sale...Cash always talks.

Their prices are getting higher all the time for used parts. I passed on a lot of items i asked about. I still managed to grab a few goodies.
Now get out there and help me save some stuff. Hope you enjoyed another crawl... |
Re: Ready for a January junkyard crawl?
Wish stuff like that was available here.

Good deal Eric! I need to get over to the yard in Newton, Ia to see if they have any new additions.... Overall they have been pretty reasonable. |
Re: Ready for a January junkyard crawl?
I shudder to think what you consider bad weather

Re: Ready for a January junkyard crawl?
I'd need a time machine to bring me back to 1982 in order to visit a yard like that. Looks like fun, wish I was there.

A Highlander and a set of buddy buckets in a junkyard! Good stuff. Thanks for the pics.

Re: Ready for a January junkyard crawl?
I assume the tool box door must have been pretty pricey? I woulda jumped all over that if it was in decent shape.

Re: Ready for a January junkyard crawl?
That M1009 has been 'Relieved of Duty"....
Cool yes, still have a Key for one from back in the day... Smitty |
Re: Ready for a January junkyard crawl?
Wow, I'd like to walk through that!!!
That GMC tailgate looks nice. Someone will want that!!! The GMC Dually with no bed has the large ducts under hood (had no hood), what was that engine? I sent a pic of the 60 Pontiac to a Pontiac enthusiast in Nebraska. |

Wait a minute are the quarters on that Suburban as solid as they look? I mean aside from the surface rust.
What is their policy for using power tools to remove body panels? If they're in decent condition I sure could use them. |
Re: Ready for a January junkyard crawl?
Overall how was the body on that yellow GMC in post #2?
