My new..... 71!
5 Attachment(s)
I have taken a break on here for several years and been working on my golfcarts since I retired out of the Nuclear work. My Familly and I, all moved to the SC coast where I have been busy building and fixing golfcarts. I have my dream cart in the works and would like to share it with all of you.
This is #1 of many I wil guess once he has this one done. This is just the mold for the fiberglass. :chevy: |

The hood and doors will be functional along with a cover that I will make for the bed. The hood will even have my louvers installed when done. The top is removable also so when weather is nice we can ride with it off. I'm gonna try and match it as close as I can to my real truck.:chevy:

It has a set of Miata & Jakes Hydraulic disc brakes. The Miata are a kit for golfcarts I have made to work on the back axles of EZGO or CLUB CAR rear ends. I use a Wilwood Disc Brakes 14-0008: Summit Racing Master Cylinder and Pedal Pro Packs for the ease of installing.:chevy: |
Re: My new..... 71!
I thought I recognized your username from way back in the day on BGW!
I haven't logged in over there for years, I still have a few carts but I got out of the repair business because it was taking all my free time working on other people's stuff. Can't wait to see this build! That's gonna be one SWEET golf cart! :metal: |

I don't post on BGW anymore. I'm on face book though and most of the golfcart sites there. I retired and went full time into carts. It gives me fun money for my cart projects. I have 7 carts right now. Here is what I own as of today except for the white one, I sold it last week.:chevy: |

Re: My new..... 71!
This past week I talked to Jay about the body and he stated in 2-3 weeks he will need the frame to do the final fitting. So with that I will be heading up to NC with the frame for him and getting to see it in person for the first time ever. I very excited and hardly can wait.
I tweek on the frame some this past week and hope to do some more this week before loading it. Weather is looking good for this week in the mid 60's. :chevy: |

Had a minor setback on the frame. I had originally built the frame for another roadster in the pictures. But after finding Jay and getting the truck body done I just decided I use it. Well the back body inside to inside is 54" wide so I had to cut the back section off and narrow it down to let the wheels tuck inside the fender's.
I got it all cut apart today and will get it cleaned up and start putting it back together tomorrow. Should have the rear end done by the end of next week.:chevy: |

I put the new wheels on it before I cut the rear section off just to see how they looked and fit over the Miata disc brakes. They fit fine.:chevy:

I cut the back section off and cleaned everything up and re aligned it good. Had Damon come over today and we welded it all back together. The rear end was to wide to fit inside the truck fenders so I had to go back to a stock rear. I started working on swapping the brakes over to the new rear end but ran out of time. The old rear was 65.5" wide the truck is only 54" wide inside to inside. I had originally built the rear to be used on another T bucket body I have. :chevy:

Re: My new..... 71!

I got the rear end back together and letting the sealer dry good tonight. New o ring, c clip, seal and input shaft with new gear oil and sealer. Should have it back in the frame by tomorrow. Those old leafs will be replaced with new ones when it comes back from Jays after the final fitting of the body and sandblasting and powder coating.
Jay say's it's 52" inside to inside of the bed fender. The rear end is 51-14" now. :metal::chevy: |

Ok the frame is done per the computer drawing Jay sent me. Yhe body is 52" wide from inside to inside of wheel openings. Back tires are 51" wide outside to outside of tires gives 1/2" of clearence on each side.
Fronts are 50" outside to outside so they have 1" on each side. Frame is 87" center to center of wheels. I put it out beside my truck to see how they compare and it's gona be a good size and Jay assures me I'll have plenty of head room inside the cab. :chevy: |
