Dana 60 Studs

Howdy,
When installing the 2 studs into a Dana 60 front axle spring perch, is it proper procedure to use loctite on the studs? If so, would it be red or blue? Thank you in advance.

i didn't use it, but guess wouldn't hurt, but don't think it would matter.

I used blue on mine. It’s probably not necessary in all honestly though.

I used blue also. Plus I added sealant around them at the top to try to prevent water ingress. I had a hell of a time getting them out when I rebuilt the axle. When I did get them out they were clearly on their way to becoming permanently rust seized. I tapped the holes to accept a 5/8-18 stud that I cut off of an unused U bolt. Now all my hardware for my axles is the same size and also the nuts.

No loctite needed. But the rust thing is real. I've actually put boat grease on the threads. Once it is torqued down it's all good. there has also been times the spring pack is too thick with aftermarket lift springs and I've just used a Grade 8 bolt with a flat and lock
