Inner fenders
 

Right now the front of my truck is lowered as much as possible, and I am thinking lower again. The issue is my inner fenders can bottom out on the tires. So I need to do something.

I am thinking of buying a wheel tub kit and giving it a go from there. Making the fender and the inner fender 1 piece expanding off the factory inner fender but extending it up 3-4 inches. With the extreme likely hood my A-arms will need to be narrowed at the same time.

What have you guys done for 6/8 drops with a 27" front tire for reference. Currently I am at a 3.5/6 roughly.

I looked them up, and those kind of blow the budget.

Also I want to keep the inner measurements as wide as possible. Those look like it would narrow it up more then what I want

I am not sure if doing this will help in the final product, but the inner fenders from 73-80 are supposedly "wider" than out 80's version. I have a bell tech static drop & my tires rub quite a bit, I am thinking of trying the early fenders out first before I blow the wad on the slosh tubz..... though the money is very well worth it as he is a member here & a super nice ... cool dude!!

Early inner 73-80 are wider and will fit. You will need to modify one or two holes I believe.

The best 'low-budget' approach that actually keeps the inner tubs functional.

Trailer fenders are another go-to but just like SloshTubz you don't get much protection within the engine compartment (vs what the OE units provide). I have Slosh Tubs on my dually & would chop up a stock set if I were to do another Square.

Now.... If you're experienced w/fiberglass, the Slosh Tubz would be a head start but would need some fab work/closing out to better seal-off the engine compartment area.

Thanks, I know it looks a bit frankenstein-ish, but it was my first time ever trying something like that. They work, and it's been a few years now without issues.

Tips to keep in mind - be aware of your heater box/blower invading the space in the engine bay, and I had to move up my vacuum bulb/reservoir a bit. My overflow bottle doesn't really fit anymore and I haven't come up with a proper replacement yet. Just be aware of anything sitting on or around the inner fenders.

Consider something from the earlier generation/s of C10's (64-72).
