Barb? on fuel pump supply side
1 Attachment(s)
Is there a AN fitting to mate up to fuel pump supply side with the barb?
Thanks Ron |
Re: Barb? on fuel pump supply side
Just curious, what would be the purpose of such a fitting?

Re: Barb? on fuel pump supply side
I wasnt thinking clearly when I posted this.
There is no such fitting. I will cut the barb off. I am going to use PTFE hose from fuel tank to fuel pump. Ron |
Re: Barb? on fuel pump supply side
i suggest keep the barb and heat the hose a little to make it pliable enough to push over the barb, and clamp it.

Might work.

They do make an AN fitting from hard line to PTFE hose but you would need to cut the barb off, and I don’t know if you would have enough tube left for the fitting to work. Here is an example:

That fitting is what I’m going to use on the line from the tank to the hose that will connect to my EFI prefilter before the electric fuel pump.

Re: Barb? on fuel pump supply side
Use the fittings above and fittings to barbed. Do not slide braided hose of any type onto a barb and clamp Doing so is a iffy connection and it looks bad. AN6 will provide enough flow for 450 to 500hp depending on distance. Only go -8 if you have to as you have slightly less connector options. Dont over size the pump. No reason to and they get noisy.

Re: Barb? on fuel pump supply side
Just to add, I used the above fittings on my fuel pump and the line going up the the carb. They worked well. For me, they were a one time thing, at least the brass ferrule. You can take on and off, but you wont be able to adjust length once compressed without spare ferrules.
