Parts from China upset me!!!!
Today I was trying to install my brand new China 1949 Brake Lights. Nothing was working. Drove me crazy!
I had purchased two sets by mistake and had one original brake light setup. So I opened one of the new ones and found....1 the sockets were hot glued in the plastic case....2 there is a metal clip between the two sockets, but no ground wire. So I opened the original brake light to figure out what I needed to do to make it work. The wires were the worsted, not usable. I cleaned the rust out of the brake light including the light buckets and wondered what I should do for the wires to the sockets. I remembered I have two sets of new china brake lights. So I opened the second set and stole the wires out the second set. So now I will be adding a wire to the clip that ground the bulb socket together and hot glue them back in. I retired last year and started trying to restore cars. I feel like Snow White, like I slept for a thousand years. What happen to the pricing of parts? 1156 light bulbs, I went to Walmart, I looked up 1156 bulbs there. Walmart had them. But the price above the product said $17! WTH! So I scanned the bulb on the app and saw it was the price below the packets $7. We have a Menards in our small town and used there app for 1156 bulbs $5, so bought two packs. Yes I did check Oreilly's they were $10 and up!!! |
