I should have taken pictures when I took the old ones off.
But who knows, if that would have helped anyway.
Got these new ones from LMC.
I cannot figure these freaking things out.
Pictures attached.
Somebody please help.

they tuck under inside edge first so the little square bit holds the rubber in place, then bend each leg back until you can snap it under the outer edge.

I think the one with the double peak goes at the screw hole the long flat goes opposite it where the ring clips onto headlight bucket

just pulled my headlight ring. looks like what you have is correct. the wide clip goes at the bottom to clear the mounting screw. The clip opposite it ( top ) clips into a slot int the headlight bucket to hold the trim ring in place.

Thanks, men. I'll give it another go tonight. When I try to do it like you have here, the rubber gasket wants to pop out immediately. The old ones have like a metal ring, built into that gasket. The new gaskets are cheap pieces of c***.

I did not have trouble getting it together. Sliding it over the headlight required some lube. Getting it off the headlight next time a couple years later the springs went flying and the rubber was left on the headlight.

it is workable, but I think the springs are not contributing much. You could try fitting rubber to ring, lubing it and sliding it onto headlight, see if it stays in place on it's own

My old rubbers were also made better, but deteriorated to far to use.
