1968 GMC Pickup Headliner
1 Attachment(s)
This is what the headliner looks like in my wife's truck. While there isn't any staining or rusting around it, we wanted to drop it to inspect the area. All of the screws are removed and it is stuck in place. I did get a little movement in the corners with some plastic body panel pry bars but I don't want to break it. Any tips for removing it without destroying it? Thanks!

Re: 1968 GMC Pickup Headliner
I don't see the border chrome plastic trim; and there appear to be holes in the field of the headliner? Did '68 come with that? If it's a factory headliner, it's put on with contact cement. Probably going to ruin it...

Re: 1968 GMC Pickup Headliner
I would suspect it is glued up and will be tough to save if thats the case. It is not a factory correct headliner and 68 didn't come with them anyhow.

The holes in the field of the headliner were from the SS screws and finish washers that (I assumed) were used to hold the headliner in place. My wife and I discussed this last night and she said she was going to clean up the SS screws and finish washers and reinstall them and move onto the next item on the check list for her truck. |
