Sanden compressor orientation and hose routing

Please post photos of your Sanden compressor and hose routing. Would like to see orientation of the compressor ports, how you secured the lines to the inner fender, etc.

Also, if it's Old Air system, show me where you mounted the heater valve and binary/trinary switch.

Thanks.

I'm in the middle of an Old Air installation. Hoses in the kit are extra long and cut-to-size.

Well, here's what I ended up doing. The compressor hoses flex enough for v-belt changing etc. Just need to get the hose ends crimped.

Still have to hook up the heater valve and hoses, and wire in the binary switch. Then I'll finish up the electrical, controls, and ducts.

It's taken quite awhile, but I fixed or modified other things along the way.

Very nice engine compartment, Rick. Did you convert to R134a?

I wouldn't mind having a factory air system that worked as well as the ones in the 70s-80s Chevys and Buicks I had back in the day.

Mike I did. New dryer, txv and adjusted POA valve. Just finished it up last fall. I think when I adjusted the POA I got the pressure just a tad low. Cools well but I think it should be better.

I positioned my line connections pointing up.

I considered that, but you can see from my above photo that a 90 degree rotation would clock the ports towards the engine.

Gonna get my hoses crimped today, install the heater hoses and valve, and start working in the under dash stuff.

Had this setup on a 55 Chevy car, which was pretty tidy. Brackets were from Bill's Hot Rods, and the Tite Fit line set is from Vintage Air.

Sanden sells the compressors with a variety of different rear heads. The heads can be ordered from different vendors to retrofit if you choose.
I cant stand the vertical outlets with the hoses sticking up in the air above the compressor. The horizontal outlets give a cleaner look, in my opinion.
On some of the compressors the rear heads can be clocked, but not all.

Here is what I did with my 70 K10. You can probably see more in my build thread.

Long runs, but very clean. That's some really nice work there. You even have a shiny radiator hose!

Anyone know if the smaller Sanden 508 style compressors can be adapted to be used with stock style compressor brackets? I really don’t like the Alan Grove brackets (looks wise).
I saw someone on a Vette message board say he used his stock brackets but his was a BB and I’ve got a SB.

How about these instead?

I have a 72, so that setup wouldn’t work for me unless I wanted to go serpentine.
