It can be done. Axle flip and maybe a 1 or 2 inch block. But you'll need to do a C-notch to the frame. for clearance

Re: 5/7 drop on a leaf spring truck??
Axle flip alone on a leaf spring truck will get the back really low. Probably more than 7” drop.

Re: 5/7 drop on a leaf spring truck??
My 69 short step is 4.5/7 drop. The DJM flip actually lowered the rear 7 1/4 over stock. My truck has the HD rear leaf so that might change the total amount slightly due to spring pack thickness.
I have ECE 2 1/2 spindles and their 2 small block spring in the front. I am quite pleased with it. I have not notched it but did use small urethane bumps on the rails that I believe came in the kit. Im running 17 zero offset wheels. 17x8 in front ( 4.5 bs) and 17x9 in the rear (5 bs). |

Leaf-spring pack thickness + 1/2 the axle tube O.D. will typically tell you the amount of drop to expect.
