inner to outer cab corner gap
 

Had a shop install rockers and inner/outer cab corners for me. I got my cab back and the inner and outer corners have this rather large gap left. I'm looking for feedback on how to fix this, fill the gap. I understand the shop should've done this correctly, that was the whole intent of them doing this work and I will be addressing it with them but since I've already got the cab home I just am looking for thoughts on making this work and fixing it.

What year cab ?

Is that the bottom edge closest to the ground ?

The cab is for my '56 pickup- this is the bottom of the cab corner where the inner and outer cab corners meet, so yes, the bottom edge closest to the ground.

It looks like the patch panels are probably poorly formed where the horizontal pinch weld area is. And the shop didn't correct that prior to installing/fitting them. The outer skin should be longer or equal to the inner. The radius area with the large gap should have been addressed. Before they were welded in. It looks like they were installed as purchased. Which you can rarely do. And expect to get a good fit.

I would probably start with clamping the gap together. ( or closer together ) To see how it reacts. And if you can get the edges close enough to tack weld in place.

They did complain about the aftermarket panels but at the same time patted themselves on the backs that they make their own panels and can do anything...I could go on but I'm over it with this place. Expensive, empty words.

I'll give it a shot trying to pull them together and go from there. Thank you

The first pic, doesn't look that far off. And I would expect to flex together, at least some.

Pics 3/4 looks worse, and may not come together real nice.

Once you get them together, the best you can. Get the area in epoxy, if that's the direction you are going. Then seam seal if wanted, and re-epoxy.
