Tesla Style Upgrade System
 

I have a 2007 GMC Sierra 2500HD and I am looking to replace my radio with a tesla style system. As you can see I have just a radio with a cd player and no navigation screen.
The main reason for the replacement, the led lights on the hvac controls are going out and I would like to upgrade the entire system and do not mind loosing the cd player. I don't especially like loosing the charging ports, but can live without them.
I have been looking at the Tesla-Style unit and like what I see.
So here are my questions:
Is this a completed DIY project or more just a plug/play installation?
Would it be possible to drill two holes to keep the charging ports?
Has anyone installed this type of upgrade and what are your thought on doing this?
