I am restoring a 59 Chevy 1/2 ton NAPCO and looking for a source for the rear emergency brake cables. These are a bit longer than conventional cables due to the height of the trucks suspension. Anyone have a source? Also, when I removed the front brake drums I found that my passenger side had no brake shoes or hardware in the drum. I found the brake cylinders alright (Jim Carter) but what about a rebuild kit that includes all the clips, springs and shoes? I don't even know where to start looking so I need help here. I have attached a picture of the left front. Finally, what shocks are you running? My project truck has Rancho RS5000 shocks presently but I would like to replace them with a more stock appearing shock. Thank you in advance.

there are some great options that could or should work for you!

Somewhere in my stuff I have a catalog that has a page of brake shoe styles. Each set of metal shoes has a specific number and then the prefix/suffix denotes the lining material and if it is riveted or Bonded.

Most likely those are 228 brake shoes from what I can find. That would be 11x2 and is the same shoe that is on a 60 1/2 ton 4x4.

That shoe with the hardware on it looks to be a the back shoe for the rear brakes on the right hand side though .Note the pin that is part of the park brake lever with the squeezed clip holding it. It looks like there are two rear shoes for rear brakes with the emergency brake lever on them on that axle.

Thanks guys. The emergency brake link eludes to the fact that there may be a manufacturer that could make the rear parking brake cables...that is a good fall back option if I can't find them elsewhere. I don't want to have to go the custom route....I'd like to keep it stock. Mr.48....thank you...so you believe that I should be looking for rear brakes for a 1960 1/2 ton 4X4 ? I surely will do whatever is required to move the project forward. I have attached the part number stamping from one of the front pads you described if that helps....-Steve-
