Project woes.....will it ever be done!
1 Attachment(s)
I am just venting I guess, but I feel like this project of mine is never going to be done. I have all the parts, I am just wanting it done NOW. I know I would hate myself later if I don't take my time to do it right, but I would like to drive the sucker soon! Sheesh!
Just when I think I have bought the last part I need something else little comes up. We are trying to get the rollbar done, so I bought 4 sets of shoulder belts, and then we can glue done the sounddeadner and the carpet, THEN install the interior. Lots more work to be done. I guess I should just hope to be done by spring....this is my first restore and I just didn't realize how long this all takes! I read an old post of mine and in it I talk about being done in a few months, and that was August!!! Sorry for the long post! Anyone want to post some progress pics to keep me motivated?? Diane Pics as she sits now... |
I hear you. I've had my 72 for about 6 months and haven't been able to work on it due to work and it kills me every time I walk outside and see it sitting there looking like I heep. I was hoping to have it done by desert season 2003, now I'll be lucky if I have it by desert season 2004 or 2005. I think I might just take all of the parts I have for it and take it to a shop and say "Here, do this, this and this." and be done with it. I would like to see other people's progress pics too.

I cant really say I feel sorry for you :p I would love to have any of my projects as completed as much as yours is. I am excitied each time I finish fixing rust on a body panel and would die for the day that I get to put them all onto the frame, unpainted!

I'd say you've made a ton of progress! I'm so jealous. Mine's been sitting in the same spot for a year and a half with a bum transmission. I don't even have time to go out and look at it!

I have done alot of restorations, not that I know it all but. I make myself take a few days to reflect and consolidate the restoration photos, count receipts and plan the next phase of the restoration. If you continue to push at a time like this you will either cut a corner or burn out. You have done an outstanding job to date, take a breather and go back at it fresh.

Hang in there! This spring I'll take/post my 'before' pictures. Once you see all the rust I have, you'll feel much better!!LOL
Your blazer is looking awesome!! Just sit in the drivers seat and rev the engine! Or better yet go back and forth about 20 feet, squealing the tires! I agree with 1972Blazer - take a look at where you came from and think about the steps you need to finish. Check the steps off one by one to plot progress. Good Luck and keep up the great work!!
