help with glass cleaning
 

does anyone no of something good to clean paint over spray off of glass PO tried to paint some of my truck and forgot to mask it off thanks bill

Try lotsa windex and a razor blade. You want to make sure to use alot of windex or you can scratch the glass. Best of luck.

yep windex or soapy water, box of razor blades and elbow grease is the best way to do it

Try acetone or finger nail polish remover.

scotchbrite and windex

Be really careful about using an abrasive. Glass does scratch. I found out the hard way trying to clean a really dirty inside of a rear window of smokers residue and used a scotch brite pad with windex. My scrubbing was too much and permanently scratched the glass. (Luckily it was a 78 Fo#D Grenada) (Sorry my post doesn't agree useRc10, just my experience. It might be ok if you use it gently. I didn't.)

I gently use a razor blade to clean overspray on glass.

Try some Pledge. I don't know what's in it but it works. Goof Off will also work.

yeah, you have to be real light with the scotchbrite

I am not sure about the paint but the best glass cleaner on the market is Bon-Ami

It is great for removing Rain X and a lot of the road rash from you windshield. It takes some elbow grease but worth it. It will also make you wipers slide better if they are in decent condition.

Maybe a cloth dipped in a bit of brake fluid? Always takes the paint right off when you DON'T want it to! :banghead: :D

I like light steelwool and windex. :D

razor blade & glass cleaner if its thick. 0000 steelwool & glass cleaner if its thin...corn

i work at a body shop and if we ever get overspray on glay, just take some cleaner and razorblade but be careful, you can easily scratch the glass

Goof-Off or Scotch bug/tar remover. I think they are basicly the same thing. Works real good.

Lacquer thinner will take it right off. Then just use regular window cleaner to take off any residue

I don't know if its harmful to the glass but I put some brasso on a rag and it wipes right off. :)

I would have to agree with using lacquer thinner. That is what we use on any overspray on glass in the body shop.

why not soften the paint with plain old paint-remover... no danger of scratching the glass !! Lacquer thinner works fine on enamenl based paints.... but not so good on lacquer paint.....

GOTTA GO WITH THE HOT SOAPY WATER AND THE RAZOR BLADE !! HAS WORKED FOR ME IN THE PAST.

you can buff out scratches on glass too, there was a huge scratch on the back window on my Monte, and I used a buffer with car polish to get it out
