What do these usually go for?
How much does a pair of doors go for, complete, no power options, no holes cut in them, good glass, mirrors still on them, no rust or bondo, no dents only need panels and one outter handle?
depends where youre at i know i used to get em for like $50 been a while since ive bought em but i think no more than like $70 used of course
Well the current price is $150 and I was just wondering if that was out of line for a nice pair of doors.
Just a FYI...last time I checked (about a year ago or so), new GM doors...shells only...went for $600+ a piece!
If it's $150.00 for the pair and they are as solid as you say, I would get all over it. Good doors aren't as abundant as they once were. At the last few swap meets I have been to, there weren't any there worth having and the still wanted 75-100 a piece..

Sounds good guys, thanks a lot!!

I went and looked at them and they are like new! But they are off a '84. Will everything line up for a '74 truck? I know the body lines are the same but will the hinges fit and bolt in the same place?
the hinges and everything will still work. The differences are on the interior of the doors. The 77 and later doors use a different regulator setup. The door panel is bigger also, it goes almost all the way across the door. Ypu can't use the earlier door panel on a later door. On the brighter side, you can bolt in the power stuff.
Sounds like your getting a good deal if its for both....
Ok, I know I can make the door panels work but can I change the regulator to work with the older style panels or do the regulators in the door only work for that door? The panels that are on them now don't cover the whole door, only to where the older ones would like '73-'77 do. Thanks for all the advice guys!

I swapped my 73 doors for 77+ doors...they physically fit, but the biggest pain was the window regualtor shafts. You see, on the newer doors (77+), the shafts are longer.
If you swap your 74 guts into the 84 doors, the shafts will be too short. You will not be able to use the window cranks because the shafts do not stick out far enough beyond the door panel. Not only that, but you will have to remove the metal window glide channels from inside the 74 doors and weld them to the inside of the 84 doors. I would swap the entire door assemblies and use the newer door panels and trim...that would be the easiest. |
alright, thanks guys. It'll be awhile before it gets doors anyway but I'll mess around with them and see what happens.
