New proud owner of a rare 67 3/4 ton 4x4 Burb!!

Hey All,

I will be honest. I found this 1967 3/4 4x4 Suburban, and I knew that I would be able to get it cheap, so I thought I would get it and then turn it around on ebay and make a profit. Well, after starting out with $5000 asking price, and over a month of emails, I got the burb for $1800. Was thinking that I could get over $3000 on ebay for it. So, I go and pick it up, and drive it home. Man, the thing ran great!!!!! Start picking through the reciept and records for this thing. In the last four years, it had the following work done.
New 350 crate motor installed.
Radiator re-cored.
New brakes (cylinders, drums, shoes, hardware)
New front suspension and alignment
New exhaust with flowmasters.
New starter, alternator, carb, battery.
New rims and 31 inch tires.
And the guy took it to a truck shop everytime anything acted up.

So, now I am thinking that I need to figure out a way to keep this as the wife thinks I am going to sell this on ebay. Well, she comes home, and I let her drive it. She says it runs good, looks good, and sounds good, why don't you keep this one?

It took me all of 1/4 second to agree with her. Gotta love that!!!

And, according the to books, this burb is one of 120 1967 3/4 ton 4x4s made that year!!!!! Can you say RARE? They also made 166 1967 1/2 ton 4x4s

So this thing is mechanically sound, all I need to do is start restoring the interior, (some rust repair, new weather stripping, felts, etc...)

Good Find!!!

Say, you wouldn't happen to have production figures for the rest of the burb years would you??? Both 2 & 4 wd, 1/2 & 3/4 ton models????? Been trying to figure this out. What book(s) are you looking in to find this info...

Thanks & Good Luck!

Joe

John, that is very cool!
We went to test drive a '68 2wd barndoor burb locally, my thought was to replace my '67 SWB ( I have two dogs and a baby now and we need more interior space :D ) . I thought it was great but the the wife hated it, mumbling ".... big as an aircraft carrier, F/A-18s trying to land on the roof while I am stuck in traffic, impossible to park, take 40 acres to turn it around...."
I do love the slant nose 67-68 burbs!
