Maych

Does anyone know or have information about this guy or his website. He hasn't updated his site in quite a while and he is doing an awsome restoration of a GMC.

Check out Maych.

He's a member here, under the name johnnyp. Haven't seen him in a while, though.

If I remember correctly his project Maych was completed about six months ago and at that time he posted some pics of the finished truck on the board.
Seems as if he stated that it was complete.
He also stated that it could not have been done with out the resource of this message board.
It is one of the most original restorations I have seen so far.
I could be wrong on this item so others feel free to correct me if I am wrong on this line of thought

Hutch is right. I have completed the restoration of Maych, but it was more like a year ago, rather than 6 months. Perchjerker is also correct that I haven't updated my web site for guite a while. I appologize to everyone who has been following my restoration progress and promise to bring the site up-to-date in the near future.

I retired back in January of 2003 and I've been busier than I ever was when I was working. I've also been enjoying taking Maych on road trips and to cars shows in the local area. Back in June I took him on a 600 mile "Tour Nebraska" road trip sponsored by the Nebraska Rod and Custom Association. My wife and I had a blast and we plan on going again this year. That is, if I get Maych back to running again by then.

A month of so after the road trip, the engine gave up the ghost on the way back from a car show. I don't have the facilities to work on him in my new retirement house, so he's at a local garage being looked at. I hope it's not fatal, but I think it might be, from the noise it made when it went south. Guess I'm not as good a mechanic as I thought. or maybe the old engine just got tired and it was his time to go.

Anyway, thanks for bugging me to update my web site. I'll try my best to get back to it real soon (unless the fishing gets real good).
