CD player pictures wanted
Can you post some pictures of your CD players in the factory location for a 1987 Silverado. I'm planning to replace the AM/FM cassette but it seems just by looking at it, there doesn't seem to be any room to make the bezel around the faceplate fit right. If you mounted your CD player in a non-factory location I would like to see pics of those too. Thanks!

I dont think a cd player was a factory option in 87. most people hack away at the dash. :bowtie:

My plan is leave the stock radio in for looks and putting it in the pocket above the heater and surround it with a plastic shrowd like in my brother's car (he made one out've the side of an old trash can lol). All you'd have to do is run the wires in a different direction.

Gchemist- Do you have a close-up pf your CD player, I'd like to see how well the CD blends in with the dash. Thanks |

I found a factory am-fm radio that was stock in my truck and omitted the junk tape player . no hacking of the dash for me. I made a console and put the cd player in there.:bowtie:

Nice console 78step... The original am/fm cassette works but I can't get some of the presets to center in on the correct frequency, plus there are not that many presets when you listen to both am and fm. I never use the cassette. The original cassette looks pretty good where it is and is real clean and complete, so, I might consider something like you did if i can't find something that would look good in the stock location.
